Drone Imagery

As part of our videography services, we offer full-service aerial imaging - including photography and videography, as well as editing. Aerial imagery is an excellent addition to creative, commercial and industrial projects.

Our cinematographer is an FAA-certified remote pilot, with NCDOT permits for commercial and government operations. Contact us to get a quote for aerial imagery services for your next project – whether it be agricultural, construction, real estate or creative. And check out our reel below to see some examples of our videography work.

  • What is a drone/sUAS?
A small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS), often called a drone, is a multi-rotor aircraft without a human pilot onboard. It is controlled from a pilot on the ground. The FAA requires an sUAS to weigh between .55lbs and 55lbs to operate in the National Airspace System (NAS).
  • What makes you qualified to operate a drone?
In order to legally operate a drone (sUAS) in the United States for commercial purposes, you must obtain a remote pilot certificate and follow all regulations created by the Federal Aviation Administration. This process involves registering with the FAA, and passing the "Unmanned Aircraft General - Small" examination, which coves a variety of topics including safety procedures, airspace regulations, reading aeronautical sectional charts and the fundamentals of aviation. Additionally, to operate a drone for commercial purposes in the state of North Carolina, you must have a remote pilot certificate, and a permit from the NCDOT for commercial flight. Our pilot has completed all of the above, and is permitted for commercial and government flight by the NCDOT.
  • What do you charge for these services?
While we have a basic pricing structure set up for real estate photography & videography, every project comes with its own set of parameters and potential difficulties. For example, conducting flights near airports requires additional planning and clearance from air traffic control to legally complete the project, and therefore may come with additional fees to account for the additional planning. The best way to get an accurate quote is to contact us with your specific project's needs so we can make an informed estimate of the final cost.
  • Are you insured?
Yes, we carry full liability insurance for every project, and can purchase additional insurance if the project calls for it.
  • What areas do you service?
We will travel anywhere within the state of North Carolina, as we are certain that we meet the state's regulations. We are also open to traveling out of state, but we will have to check each state and municipality's regulations before scheduling the project to ensure we are abiding by all laws and regulations.
  • Other than photography & videography, what are drones commonly used for?
Drones serve many purposes outside of simply capturing images and videos for real estate and advertising. They are often used to monitor and document progress on construction sites. In fact, drones in tandem with software can create orthomosaic maps of build sites to track not only the progress of the build, but gather accurate topographical data, and calculate raw material inventory. Drones are often used to inspect farm land and monitor crops, as they can easily navigate to areas that are dangerous or difficult to access on foot or by vehicle. They are useful for inspecting equipment such as solar farms, wind farms, high rise buildings, radio & cell towers and other industrial sites at high elevations.
